Poll: Dead Heat in Georgia
In our latest poll of likely Georgia voters, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are tied in the race for President.
The toplines:
Clinton | 43% |
Trump | 43% |
Johnson | 11% |
Undecided | 3% |
730 respondents answered the poll, carrying a margin of error of +/- 3.6%. The results are very similar to our latest poll in Florida, where Clinton led by 1%.
Elsewhere in the crosstabs, we see that…
Clinton wins: | Trump wins: |
Minority voters (all of them) | White voters |
<45 YO cohorts | >45 YO cohorts |
Women | Men |
84% of Democrats | 76% of Republicans |
37% of Independents | 36% of Independents |
Metro Atlanta | All other regions |
Johnson had a particularly solid showing in this poll, garnering 11% of the total vote and 25% of independents.
We also asked Georgians whether they believe the election could be “rigged.” The results were surprising:
What do you believe is the likelihood that the US presidential election could be “rigged,” where one candidate is declared the winner of a state, when in reality the opposing candidate received more votes? | |
Likely | 47% |
Unlikely | 37% |
Unsure | 16% |
While it is extremely unlikely that a presidential election would be rigged in any way, voters nonetheless are skeptical, likely thanks in part to Donald Trump’s recent insinuations.
